VASCULAR INJURY
Bleeding is not very common during surgery due to the use of a
tourniquet. Vascular injuries that can occur following surgery include
loss of blood supply to a distal extremity (like a toe). People with
vascular diseases and diabetes are at higher risk for developing a
vascular injury. Certain procedures on toes carry a higher risk for
vascular injury.
